Your light bulb moment.
Are you willing to try and fail 1,000 times? If not, you might want to keep on reading.
I’m talking about the thing that you are so passionate and curious about that you’d do it anyway, even if that means having to deal with failing a few times. Or a few dozen times. Or even one thousand.
I’m talking about going for something despite people telling you it’s a bad idea.
I’m talking about giving yourself time to experiment with your approach.
I’m talking about being creative and brave.
And here’s a news flash—most of the greatest creations ever made didn’t work on the rst try.
Henry Ford on producing a car.
The Wright Brothers on taking fight.
Richard Branson’s almost lethal hot air balloon trip around the world.
These creators have failed so many times it’s almost impossible to keep track.
Need another example?
Thomas Edison made 1,000 unsuccessful attempts at inventing the lightbulb before he got it right.
ONE THOUSAND TIMES!
I don’t know about you, but most of my professional goals pale in comparison to these epic historical figures. But that doesn’t make it any less scary for me when I try something new.
What if I screw it up?
What if I make a fool of myself?
What if nobody shows up?
All very common and understandable fears.
But what if it actually works? What if you are more capable than your limiting assumptions and Imposter Syndrome have allowed you to believe?
What if your idea completely transforms your entire life?
My homework for you today is just to sit quietly for five minutes and allow yourself to dream. Allow yourself to get aligned with the possibility that things might work out for you.
Have a light bulb moment.
And while you are in that fabulous mental space, write down as many things as you can dream up. No rules, no judgment. It’s like a magic paper––anything you write will come true.
Then, take action.
I’m not saying this is going to be easy, but you owe it to yourself to move just a little bit towards the life you want, instead of actively walking in the opposite direction of your desires (which is what most of us do, myself included sometimes.)
You are a creative force—so create something.
Need some guidance? Want to bounce an idea off of someone? Let’s connect. My schedule is open to you for the next few weeks, no strings attached.
If you are an orchestra musician, I ESPECIALLY want to talk to you...there are a lot of possibilities sitting right in front of you, even if it doesn’t feel that way right now.
You can check my schedule right here for a 30-45 minute call.
Don’t see any times that work for you? Shoot me an email chris@honestypill.com and we’ll work it out.
If you aren’t sure what you are going to do with yourself for the next 8-12 months, you at least owe yourself a conversation.
